The short version
Team Chat is a private messaging app for a school robotics team. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you. The app collects only what it needs to let approved team members message each other, and you can delete your account inside the app at any time.
This policy covers the Team Chat iPad app (bundle identifier com.thethriftybot.teamchat), published by SAD Technologies, LLC ("we", "us") for the robotics team's mentors and students. Accounts are approved by a team administrator before they can see anything.
What Team Chat collects

All of this is linked to your account, used only to run the app, and never used for tracking or advertising. We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or analytics.
Who can see your messages
Only the members of a conversation can read it. For child safety, team administrators can review private conversations that include a student. The school-day lock-out feature uses your role and the school calendar; it does not use your location.
Service providers
Team Chat stores data with Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage, hosted in the United States) and delivers notifications through Apple Push Notification service. We share data with no one else and never sell it.
Deleting your account and data
Open the person icon at the top right of the app and choose Delete account. This permanently removes your sign-in, email address and device tokens and replaces your name with "Deleted user". Messages you already sent remain in the team's conversations, without your name, to preserve the safeguarding record. To ask for messages or photos to be removed too, or if you cannot use the app, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Messages are kept for the life of the team's conversations, and removed on request as described above.
Children
Team Chat is used by high school students under the supervision of the team's adult mentors, and accounts exist only with administrator approval. We collect no more from students than from adults, and do not use any student data for advertising. A parent or guardian may contact us to review or delete a student's data.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and the database enforces access rules on the server, so a modified app cannot read conversations it does not belong to.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date above.
